So I’m NOT a French Toast lover but everyone else in my family is obsessed! This is an old favorite recipe of mine that always goes over famously!
1 Loaf Sourdough Sliced (1/2 thick)
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Powdered Ginger ( a small pinch)
Nutmeg ( small pinch)
Cinnamon ( generous pinch)
1 tsp sugar
1 Tablespoon Grand Marnier
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and let the bread soak up the egg mixture for 5 minutes. Heat griddle to medium high heat and cook until browned and crisped on each side. Serve with 2-3 strips of bacon or turkey bacon.
I serve mine with honey or agave rather than maple syrup.
